Leonida is split into six regions. Rockstar Rockstar hasn't released a full map yet, so anything calling itself "the official GTA 6 map" before launch is a fan reconstruction. What we do know comes from the trailers, the 26-minute gameplay reveal and Rockstar's official screenshots.
How big is the GTA 6 map?
- The whole of Leonida is reported to be about 3× the size of Red Dead Redemption 2's playable area. Reported
- Vice City alone is about 2× Los Santos, the whole city of GTA 5. Reported
- The weather is local: rain in one area while another stays sunny, plus tropical storms and seasonal hurricanes. Rockstar
Rockstar hasn't given an official square-kilometre figure. We'll update this the day it does.

1. Vice City
Vice City is Rockstar's take on Miami, and the biggest, most detailed city it has ever built. Rockstar Glass towers on the water, packed beaches, Art Deco hotels and neon nightlife.

Look closely at Rockstar's night shot and you'll find:
- The Ocean View hotel, with pink neon over an Art Deco front. In 2002's GTA Vice City it was Tommy Vercetti's first safehouse.
- The cops are Vice Beach Police, in aviators.
- The police car's plate reads U.S. Government.
- A vertical neon sign up top spells Dixon.

Away from the beach it's a working city. A billboard for Manman says "Pas cher mais délicieux" (French for "cheap but delicious"), a pillar is painted with the Haitian flag, and road signs point to county road 561, route 10 and Interstate 97. Trailer 2's highway signs also read "35 North, VCI Airport, Ambrosia".
2. Leonida Keys
South of Vice City are the Leonida Keys, based on the Florida Keys: an island chain linked by long bridges, with seaplanes, turquoise water, boats, diving and fishing. Rockstar It's also where Jason lives, rent-free, working for Brian Heder.

- A green iguana wanders across the street. Iguanas are one of Leonida's invasive species.
- A Squalo speedboat billboard promises "the gold standard in product delivery".
- People climb all over a giant painted whale.

And there's The Rusty Anchor, whose slogan is "sink your troubles at the Rusty Anchor". There's a Crab Festival banner on the railing, and one man at the picnic table has clearly sunk his troubles too hard.
3. Grassrivers
Inland from Vice City, Grassrivers is Leonida's Everglades: swamp, sawgrass, airboats and alligators. Rockstar

- The fan guard reads Airgator Airboats, number 09.
- There's a dead alligator on the deck with a bare foot resting on it.
- A can of Patriot beer, a returning GTA brand, plus Yukon dip.
Further out there's a seafood place with a giant orange shellfish on the roof, the Sunrise RV Park and a seaplane dock. If you're hunting animals, this is where you'll meet a lot of them. See our GTA 6 animals guide.
4. Port Gellhorn
On the Gulf coast, Port Gellhorn is a faded old spring-break town of motels and strip malls. Rockstar It looks rougher than Vice City.

At the Starlet Motel the vacancy light is on, the sign says "K NG SIZE BEDS" (the I is out), and someone is sunbathing by the pool, at night.
5. Ambrosia
Inland by a huge lake, Ambrosia is farm country, dominated by a sugar refinery. Rockstar Roadside signs call Allied Crystal "the sweet lifeblood of Ambrosia".

- It's biker country. Vests say Ambrosia under a grim reaper patch, and one reads Final Chapter. The same club appears in Game Informer's biker-bar screenshot.
- There's an Ambrosia County Sheriff's Office.
- A Xero gas station, a brand straight out of GTA 5.
- When the work's done, they party in the mud.
6. Mount Kalaga National Park
The wild north. Mount Kalaga National Park is forest, hiking trails and hunting. Rockstar

Expect dirt bikes tearing through mud (and one raccoon running for its life), kayaks on the river under an old railway bridge, readable flood gauges and a train crossing overhead.
What we don't know yet
- The full map layout and its official size.
- Whether all six regions are open from the start.
- Exact collectible and hidden-location lists. These arrive on launch day, and we'll map them here.
